Concrete Guardians
These derelict hulls guard the sandy shores of Kiptopeke State Park on the lower portion of Virginia's Eastern Shore. These vessels were made of concrete during World War II since steel was in short supply. Their presence forms a natural breakwater along the shore of the Chesapeake south of Cape Charles, Va.
